Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois: Tale of the BODA

Oleksandr Usyk is currently defending his Heavyweight titles today against notable, hard hitting British contender Daniel "Dynamite" Dubois.

At Age 25, Dubois is a little bit lucky to be getting his shot so soon, considering that Joe Joyce, the respected Ex - Olympian who stopped him in 10 rounds in London 2 years ago, is not likely to land a world title shot even next year, at least not before the rising American prospect Jared Anderson.

The following is a basic BODA comparison which covers 4 aspects.

    Offense Quality.

Usyk's quick, well coordinated hands will test Dubois like never before. Daniel, as the Boxing Insider website has noted, does not have incredible hand speed, and unless he can this day significantly surpass Anthony Joshua's best defensive displays against this same opponent, will have puffy eyes by the end of the 8th round max!  It seems somewhat clear who will have landed more power punches by the end of the sixth round!

    Advantage: Usyk

    Defence

This is Alexander Usyk's greatest weapon, and it is likely to be key against a somewhat slow opponent. It seems likely Dubois will burn a lot of energy trying to chase down the champion, meaning he had better have lots of stamina tonight if he will at the very least last the distance!

    Clear Advantage: Usyk

    Chin/Punch Resistance

The more proven fighter in this fight is obviously the man who survived the few good punches Anthony Joshua could manage to land in those 2 fights that gave the champion his status going into this fight.  Daniel Dubois' eyes may be a weak point tonight as they were against Joe Joyce. CAN HE PROTECT THEM?

    Advantage: Usyk

    Power

Only one of these 2 fighters brings a very impressive stoppage record into the fight. The question as to how much this will be a key advantage makes the fight a worthy watch!!

    Advantage: Dubois

    VERDICT

Oleksandr Usyk is very likely to defend his titles convincingly tonight! He has shown his ability to frustrate bigger, harder hitting opponents that Daniel Dubois is yet to prove himself better than. Outside the slim possibility that Usyk will chose to greatly underestimate his opponent today, he looks very capable of winning via late stoppage!

UPDATE: Usyk has won via late stoppage in round 9. Daniel Dubois' heart in question again!
